SERVING SIZE: 1
1 large egg
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 cup light brown sugar, packed
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 king-sized Snickers bars, diced into small pieces; divided
1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick), melted
2/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips; divided
1/2 to 1 teaspoon kosher salt, or to taste
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. To make cleanup easier, line an 8-by-8-inch baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray with cooking spray; leave aside.
Melt the butter in a large microwave-safe bowl for about 1 minute on high power.
To avoid scrambling the egg, wait a few moments before adding it. Whisk together the egg, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Stir in the flour and salt until just mixed, being careful not to overmix.
Add most of the Snickers pieces (save about 10-12 pieces to manually add to the top of the batter), continue to add chocolate chips (reserve about 1/4 cup to manually add to the top of the batter), and stir until well combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and lightly smooth the top with a spatula.
Place the Snickers and chocolate chips on top of the batter in an even layer.
Bake in the preheated oven for 22–26 minutes, or until the top is set and done in the center; be careful, do not overbake.
As the blond̾i̾es cool, they firm up. A toothpick test is unreliable because you’ll almost certainly strike melted chocolate or caramel, but if you h̾i̾t a section of dough, the toothpick should come out clean or with a few moist crumbs but no batter.
Before slicing and serving, chill the pan on a wire rack for at least 90 minutes.
Blond̾i̾es can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week at room temperature or for up to 6 months in the freezer.
