Trifle cake is a quintessential dessert that has appeared on a brother’s table for over four centuries. A traditional-style-trifle is an alternating, harmonious arrangement of layers of attractive ingredíєnts including custard, sherry dipping cake, fruit, jam, and whipped cream. However, you are free to combine different fruits according to your preference.
The cake has the sweet aroma of sherry custard and because the sweet and sour comes from the fruit, here is the recipe of the standard Trifle, so bring your shirt to the kitchen to reward yourself with a dessert. This delicious mouth.
FOR THE CUSTARD LAYER
4 cups whole milk
8 egg yolks
1/2 cup sugar
4 tablespoon cornstarch
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup butter
FOR THE CAKE LAYER
9 × 13 wḧïẗe or yellow cake, baked and cooled
1/2 cup cream sherry
3 heaping tablespoons seedless red raspberry jam or preserves
FOR THE FRUIT LAYER
2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
1 cup fresh raspberries
1 tablespoon cream sherry
1 tablespoon sugar
1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
1 teaspoon powdered sugar
Step 1: Head Money to put the milk in a saucepan and simmer until the milk is warmed up is okay.
Step 2: In the bowl of beaten egg yolks with sugar and cornstarch, the mixture will be light yellow.
Step 3: Put the mixture in step 2 into the hot milk in step 1, then simmer and stir the non-sticky mixture on the bottom of the pot until the mixture thickens, remove the pot from the stove and add vanilla. Let it sit for 5 minutes, then add the butter and whisk the mixture.
Step 4: Cool the boiled custard mixture using an ice bath. Pour ice into a large bowl and place the hot custard in a bowl that fits the larger bowl. Then add a little water to the ice to make a ‘bath’. This will make the mixture cool more quickly.
Step 5: Cut the cake horizontally, put all the cut edges on and brush them with cream sherry, sweep the jam over and cut the cake into smaller squares.
Step 6: Preliminary process raspberries and chopped strawberries then mix with sugar and sherry (in the absence of fresh fruit you can use frozen fruit but with frozen fruit, we will puree them.)
Step 7: in the bowl for ice cream and fresh milk into powdered sugar, use the mixer whipped mixture.
Step 8: Finishing the cake: first place ⅓ the cake in step 6 to the bottom of the plate, the jam side is below, then put ⅓ the fruit mixture in step 7 and ⅓ the custard mixture in step 4. and finally the whipped cream on top. Repeat the operation in the same order twice until all the ingredíєnts are gone.
Step 9: Decorate the cake with freshly prepared sliced strawberries or raspberries.
